Over the years, we’ve mentored over 70 interns thru The Apprentice Program, giving each and every one their very own superpowers by teaching them tangible skills in event planning.
In this week’s Apprentice Case Study, we’ve spoken to former apprentice Jordan Adams to see exactly how the program helped her build skills and boost her career.
Read on to find out more about how The Apprentice Program contributed to her success as an event planner, taking the event industry by storm…

Jordan, Summer 2012 apprentice
What is your name?
Jordan Adams
What did you love the most about The Apprentice Program?
I enjoyed being onsite at events getting hands-on experience.
What skills did you gain from The Apprentice Program?
I learned a lot about organization and logistics. I was able to put together detailed spreadsheets that made the life of an event planner much easier. I also became more confident with speaking on the phone and writing professional emails with vendors and clients.
Did the The Apprentice Program unlock doors for your career and/or help you get a job?
The Apprentice Program helped me secure a position with The Simplifiers, but also taught me the skills I needed to become an event planner.
Are you still in the events industry? Where are you working now?
Yes, I am still currently in the events industry. I worked for a caterer, after my time with The Simplifiers, and that ultimately led to me starting my own event planning firm, Big Time Creatives.
Favorite thing you loved about working weddings with The Simplifiers?
My favorite thing about working wedding with The Simplifiers was watching the bride and groom enjoy themselves on one of the most important days of their lives.
What Jordan is GREAT at:
What an incredibly sharp young professional! Within seconds of meeting her at the first interview as an intern, I knew she had the spark. Malleable and open to new experiences, a quick learner and detail-oriented, she was the perfect candidate for The Apprentice Program because she soaked up the training like a sponge. From there, we gave her more responsibilities, challenges and opportunities to shine, which helped grow her skill base and confidence. Service with a smile is something she excels at…she has an amazing talent at working with clients and has a bright career ahead.
Learning thru The Apprentice Program gave Jordan both skills and confidence, helping her become an incredible event planner.
